Terri MacKenzie
Director & Senior Tutor
Terri is a primary school trained teacher with over 20 years of experience in the classroom and has been a specialist tutor for 10 years. Her passion for teaching students with additional needs stems from her personal experience with her son who has ASD, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia and Dyscalculia and from her daughter who has ADHD. She started the business to help give confidence back to children who were struggling and help them succeed at school. Terri tutors in-person at Ipswich and online.
Terri is a life-long learner who is still studying and on the path to become a Educational & Developmental Psychologist.

Alex MacKenzie
Tutor (current university student)
Alex is a second year university student who will be studying vetinary science in 2025. Alex is a highly accomplished student with an equivalent ATAR of 99.7 and maintains a high GPA in her university studies. Alex has a passion for mathematics and has been tutoring maths for Better Basics for the past year. She helped some of her students move from failing grades to A's and B's, and gave her students confidence and determination to keep trying. Alex tutors maths to primary students and high school students to Year 10. She offers online lessons during the week and in-person lessons at Ipswich on Saturdays. She is supervised and trained by the senior tutor.

Annette Speirings
Tutor (current university student)
Annette comes to teaching after a long history in Science and Maths. She completed her honours in Science and Math and spent many years working as a laboratory assistant and tutoring Science, Math and English privately. She is currently completing her Masters of Teaching and Learning and in 2025 will complete qualifications in MSL and teaching students with English and Math difficulties. Annette has personal and work experience teaching neurodiverse students and has a wealth of knowledge on things relating to neurodiversity. Annette loves to help her student's achieve. She can tutor prep to adults in English and Prep to Year 10 in Math. She can also help tutor science.
